Paola Caicedo is the Director of Finance in the College of Urban Planning and Public affairs (CUPPA) at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  She joined CUPPA in April 2017. As the Director of Finance she is responsible for all financial, business and budgetary matters at the College level as well as business functions in the Dean’s office. Her understanding of finance, accounting and university business policies and procedures allows her to assess the overall financial health of the College. Paola currently serves the university on the OBFS Advisory Committee and OBFS Reporting Subcommittee.  Her professional interest in Grant Administration has served her well in her a research administration career at UIC.  She has completed the OBFS Business Administrator Certification Program (BACP) and has a great understanding of the University of Illinois system.

Paola joined UIC in December 2004 soon after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Roosevelt University.  She worked as a Graduate Admissions Counselor and in 2006 she moved into a new role as a Project Coordinator in the Anatomy and Cell Biology Department in the College of Medicine where she gained experience on Pre-award.  In the summer of 2007, she was offered the opportunity to work in the Physics Department as a Grant Program Coordinator where she was in charge of pre and post-award administration as well as other financial matters.  In 2015 the Physics Department hired her to oversee the research operations in the Microphysics Laboratory where she continue her career as a business administrator until she joined CUPPA as a Manager of Research Operations in 2017.
