UTC Part of New, Federally Funded Research Consortium
Federal and state representatives gathered for the official ribbon-cutting event on May 30, 2024 at UIUC. UTC Director P.S. Sriraj (third right with scissors) joined the cutting.
The Urban Transportation Center at UIC will participate in a new federally-funded research center, the NuRail Center of Excellence (NURail CoE). The center, made of up of nine universities, will work to advance research solutions to "enhance the safety, efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of both passenger and freight rail transportation."
NURail CoE will be managed through the The Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
