Voorhees Center Receives NASA Award
The Nathalie P. Voorhees Center for Neighborhood and Community Improvement was recently awarded NASA's Silver Group Achievement Award for a stellar achievement that supports NASA's Core Values.
In fall of 2020, the Voorhees Center conducted a study for NASA detailing how the agency significantly benefits the US economy. The report shows that, through all NASA activities, the agency generated more than $64.3 billion in total economic output during fiscal year 2019, supported more than 312,000 jobs nationwide, and generated an estimated $7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes throughout the United States.
According to NASA officials, "With UIC’s partnership, NASA was able to measure and articulate its economic value from federal investments through data driven analysis nationally, in all 50-states and the District of Columbia." Read more about the Voorhees Center's work with NASA here.
