UPP Professor Brenda Parker wins UIC Teacher Recognition Program Award
Please join us in congratulating Brenda Parker for being 1 of 14 faculty to win the University of Illinois at Chicago Teacher Recognition Program (TRP) Award! The TRP is UIC’s only campus-wide, self-nominated, faculty-administered teaching award program. It recognizes the teaching excellence of faculty at any of UIC’s departments.
In addition to a description of her course history and contributions to the department and curriculum, a student recommendation emphasized Parker's great teaching methods. He described her "wiliness to be adaptive, synthesize new knowledge, and affirm student experience" as foundational to facilitating "the most well-curated course of his time within the Urban Studies program."
