Yes, the census should be tracking race and ethnicity!
There has been a lot of debate about the 2020 Census and if questions regarding race should be removed from the census entirely. Tim Johnson, the Director of the Survey Research Lab within CUPPA, co-wrote a piece in The Washington Post stating that removing race from the 2020 Census is a horrible idea and explains why.
