The latest edition of Crain’s Chicago Business’ “Crain's Forum” examines topics related racial gaps and the impact of inequality, including a Q&A with Rachel Weber, UIC professor of urban planning and policy, who discusses the challenges Chicago faces in trying to spur economic growth in its neediest communities. Weber says any approach to alleviating persistent and concentrated poverty can’t just focus on the place, but also needs to use a people based-strategy.
