Prof LeRoux Featured in Chicago Tribune Article
Kelly LeRoux, UIC associate professor of public administration, is interviewed in a Chicago Tribune story about the Chicago Park District inspector general's review of the Grant Park Conservancy and its president's selling of discounted Grant Park event permits to benefit the organization. "It's the lack of oversight really that encourages this opportunistic behavior," says LeRoux, who studies nonprofit performance and accountability. "There are ways to do this legitimately, and if you want to set up a friend group or a park-supporting nonprofit, it's perfectly fine to do that. But I think they may have to start from scratch." http://bit.ly/2GdumwB (subscription may be required)
