P.S. Sriraj, director of the Urban Transportation Center and research associate professor at UIC, is quoted in a Chicago Tribune story on the use of autonomous vehicle technology in the trucking industry. The freight industry is expected to be among the early adopters of autonomous technology, in part because companies can’t fill enough truck-driving jobs, Sriraj said. Also featured in the column is former UIC student Krystian Gebis, co-founder and chief executive of a technology company that developed a special system to autonomously operate a semi-trailer truck.  http://bit.ly/2OjuihK (subscription required)
