Janet Smith Quoted In Sun-Times Article Addressing The Impact Of Racist Real Estate Policies
Janet Smith, UIC professor of urban planning and policy and co-director of the Voorhees Center, is quoted in a Chicago Sun-Times article about a Duke University report that aims to quantify the negative financial impact of racist real estate policies and predatory contracts on Chicago’s black community between 1950 and 1970. “It’s bringing to light the total cost this predatory practice took from the black community as a whole,” says Smith, one of the report’s co-authors. http://bit.ly/2MioK8g
