Janet Smith Discusses Chicago’s Shrinking Middle Class On The Santita Jackson Show
Janet Smith, UIC professor of urban planning and policy and co-director Nathalie P. Voorhees Center for Neighborhood and Community Improvement, is joined “The Santita Jackson Show” on WCPT Radio (820 AM) at approximately 7:10-15 a.m. today for a discussion regarding Chicago's shrinking middle class. Earlier this year, the center released findings on the various factors related to the matter including rising income segregation, the growth of high-income people moving to the city, the decline of families with kids, and the need for affordable housing.
