Great Cities Institute Selected to Perform Oak Park’s First Ever Racial Equity Assessment
The Great Cities Institute beat out 17 other organizations with its proposal to perform the Village of Oak Park's first ever racial equity assessment. The village board approved its contract with the Great Cities Institute with a nearly unanimous vote on May 8th. One village trustee recused herself from the vote because she is employed by the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Kathleen Yang-Clayton, senior faculty fellow of the Great Cities Institute, will act as project manager and co-prime investigator with Thea Crum. Adam Slade and Katherine Faydash will serve as researchers on the assessment. Read the full article from the Wednesday Journal of Oak Park and River Forest here.
