GFRC’s Amanda Kass Featured In Story On Underfunded Pensions
Amanda Kass, associate director of the Government Finance Research Center at UIC, is a featured expert in a Crain’s Chicago Business/Better Government Association story on underfunded local pensions in Illinois. Kass notes that municipalities have fewer tools to maintain the public safety pensions, so the urgency, for them, is greater than at the state level. "If total revenue isn't keeping pace with the year-to-year increase we know that more revenue is having to be devoted to making pension payments.
