The IBM Center for the Business of Government released a report this week co-authored by Public Administration’s Dr. Jim Thompson and PA PhD student, Alejandra Medina, titled, “Measuring the Quality of Management in Federal Agencies.”  The report stems from Thompson’s and Medina’s research and their sponsored workshop in November 2019 on the measurement of management quality within public agencies at the federal level.
Read more here on the Senior Executives Association task force that will now be following through on the recommendations made in that report.
Read John Kamensky’s blog at the IBM Center for the Business of Government summarizing Thompson’s and Medina’s work on assessing federal agencies. Kamensky writes, “Given long term structural priorities as well as the immediacy of the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting government action, well-managed agencies will be critical to an effective response.”
