Dr. P.S. Sriraj Comments on Baltimore Metro Transit System Shutdown
If you hadn't heard about Baltimore Metro's sudden shut down for an entire MONTH (with another planned shutdown in August), then check out this article and appreciate Chicago's public transit a little bit more. UTC Director Dr. P.S. Sriraj comments on how it is common procedure to have "slow zones" where rail infrastructure is beginning to fail. However, it isn't as common to realize just how bad the rails are and then issue an immediate closure for emergency repairs.
