Dean Pagano Discusses Better Ways To Pay For City Services In Crain’s

How Can Citizens Pay For Public Services

In an op-ed published by Crain’s Chicago Business, Michael Pagano, dean of the UIC College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs and director of the Government Finance Research Center, writes that it is time to re-think how the city’s citizens and visitors pay for city services (public safety, water, roads and bridges) that reflect how much we use and value those services. “Congestion pricing is a start, but the city should systematically evaluate the link between city services and the users of such services,” says Pagano, who is also professor of public administration. http://bit.ly/317GuG8
