Certified Public Manager (CPM) Program Begins in March in partnership with UW-Madison

UIC's Government Finance Research Center, in partnership with UW-Madison, Extension, will begin the Certified Public Manager® program on March 21, 2024, in Bristol, WI. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a CPM Certificate signed by the Governor and University Chancellor. The Cohort program will be hybrid, allowing participation both in-person and virtually, for maximum flexibility to earn the CPM designation.

IL-WI-CPM is part of a nationally accredited comprehensive management development program specifically designed to prepare people for management careers in local, state, federal government, and other public serving organizations. IL-WI-CPM classes practically apply executive, management, and supervisor theories to real-world public management challenges.

IL-WI-CPM offers a 16-month learning community instructional program (2 days per month), spread over 18 months totaling 300 hours (Supervisory-72, Management-130, and Executive-98), including Individual and Group Capstone projects. IL-WI-CPM classes focus on seven core leadership competencies: Personal and Organizational Integrity, Leading People, Systemic Integration, Change Management, Managing Work, Developing Self, and Public Service Focus.
