Master of City Design (MCD) and the Department of Urban Planning and Policy are happy to announce a Brown Bag Lunch Lecture on March 7th at 12pm-1pm, where Heidi Sperry, Emily Thrun, and Max Lyon, will present on the City of Chicago’s Central Area Plan.

The Central Area Plan (CAP) will serve as a 20-year implementable vision for how the City's central core can better serve Chicago residents, workers, and visitors. This region includes the Loop, South Loop, Streeterville / River North, West Loop/Fulton Market (FMID), and some of the North Branch of the river. This plan has been informed by the past, rooted in equity, and shaped by Chicagoans on behalf of the entire city. The initial phase involved engagement with community members, local leaders, and elected officials to establish goals and objectives for the area, completed in 2023. The second phase is currently underway and will define the steps needed to achieve that vision.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear about ongoing efforts with the Chicago Area Plan and share your ideas!
