In celebration of GIS Day, we will be discussing the use of GIS as an analytical tool for the social sciences.  As access to geospatial technologies continues to increase, new disciplines examine the role geography has in their research. We discuss several recent broad-ranging research projects from school busing optimization to opioid hospitalization to refugee settlement policy. For each of these studies, we will discuss the different approaches that spatial analysis played to answer complex questions. We hope you can join us.
