Thank you for your time, donations, and ongoing support that made AnnaBananza Chicago 2017 a great success! Thanks to everyone’s generosity, an impressive $5,249 was raised at the event on Monday, April 10 at Lagunitas Brewery. These funds have been matched by Anna’s family to support the Anna Bachman Memorial Scholarship Fund for student scholarships and the summer internship program at the UIC College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs.

More than 100 of Anna's friends, family members, and colleagues came out to support the Anna B. Fund while celebrating Anna's life in a way she would have loved, surrounded by family and friends, live music, and great beer.

Thanks to all who volunteered, turned out, or cheered us on from near and far.

Anna's family and friends started AnnaBananza in California in 2014 and have raised more than $40,000 to date for the scholarship fund and internship at CUPPA and for initiatives in California that support organizations that promote affordable housing and provide services to homeless families. All of the funds raised this year will support the Anna Bachman Memorial Fund, which supports CUPPA students who are driven to study and improve the landscape of affordable housing.

If you were unable to attend AnnaBananza Chicago 2017, but would like to support urban planning students like Anna pursue their commitment to social justice and affordable housing, you can make a donation at support.uic.edu/yourgift and enter your web code 372399660.

If you have any questions about the Fund, or about making a gift, please contact Mark Valentino, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Mark can be reached at (312) 413-1193 or at mjv@uic.edu if you have any questions.

We're so excited to support a new generation of students that continue Anna's work and live her legacy.

Thank you again for your generous support!

Sincerely,
