On Thursday, October 19th, Nik Theodore will be in the lounge to discuss his role as the editor of the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research.

About the Editor

Nik Theodore is a professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Policy, as well as the Director of the Center for Urban Economic Development, at the University of Illinois Chicago. His research focuses on the industrial change and the restructuring of employment regimes, economic informality, and urban governance. This work analyzes how processes of urbanization are entrenching social inequalities, patterns of uneven development, and modes of political-economic exclusion. He also serves as an editor of the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research.

IJURR publishes articles that make a decisive and original contribution to critical urban scholarship, drawing on evidence from cities and regions around the world. The journal embraces a multidisciplinary approach to the field, and is essential reading for social scientists who are concerned with the complex, changing roles and futures of cities and regions.
