Lawrence Brown is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Policy, Management, and Analytics. He is interested in public personnel administration and representation with a focus on hiring, promotion, retention, and turnover in American government employment. His research navigates these issues with particular attention to race, gender, and class. His recent research investigates federal diversity policy and its role in addressing persistent issues of racial and gender under-representation in the federal workforce.
