Voorhees Center Co-Director Yittayih Zelalem Honored For Uptown Community Projects
Voorhees Center Co-Director Yittayih Zelalem will be honored on Thurs., Oct. 8 for the key role he has played in Uptown. His contributions to the Uptown “International Homes” Project and “Lakeview Towers,” a 500-unit resident-controlled development along with his dedication, integrity, and spirit in the Uptown community will be highlighted at the Voice of the People’s "Sweet Home Uptown” virtual celebration of its 50th anniversary. Voice of the People in Uptown is commemorating their work in affordable housing with a look to fifty years past and the next fifty years to come, honoring some of the many who created affordable housing opportunities in Uptown and throughout Chicagoland.
