Kate Albrecht Quoted In Crain’s On Cook County’s Response To COVID-19

COVID-19

Kate Albrecht, UIC assistant professor of public administration, is quoted in a Crain’s Chicago Business article examining Cook County's COVID-19 response.  In part of the article that addresses various changes in key county positions of leadership, such as the removal of Dr. Terry Mason as chief operating officer for the Cook County Department of Public Health. Albrecht tells Crain’s that optics are important in such a situation. "In communities that are traditionally underserved, this is an important thing to think about, because the leader being replaced was known for staying connected, championing causes of those communities and thinking about long-term health disparities." https://bit.ly/2VlhMSt (subscription may be required)
