UIC Urban Planning and Policy Internship Connection
Our annual Internship Connection is exclusively for MUPPS - first years and other students who have not completed their 300 hours of required internship credit. This is not a normal job fair. Internship and job descriptions will be released for student review, where students will later be able to submit their resume/cover letters/work samples and then sign up for in-person interviews with the organizations of their choice.
Unlike your typical job fair, you will have the opportunity to apply and interview for internships on the spot with local nonprofits and agencies. Of course, you will have the opportunity to review job descriptions (make sure it fits the bill) before applying. Many, if not all, of these agencies have had MUPPs as interns and/or staff, and it wouldn't be too surprising to find that an alum of our program may be the one interviewing you.
How this event works:
- We will share a Box folder to the listserv (check those emails) on Sunday, February 25th at 10AM with all of the internship descriptions for all participating agencies.
- Registration - first come, first serve - for interview slots (20 minutes each) will be open on SignUp.com on Saturday, March 3rd at 10AM
- Registration for interviews will close on Monday, March 5th at 10AM
- Another email will come out shortly after registration closes with a Box folder for you to submit your application materials (resumes, cover letters, work samples); this will also have a deadline, as we will then give these folders to each organization's representative. (Please do not submit materials directly to the organizations)
