IRRPP Summer Education Workshops

Registration is now open for the 2020 Summer Education Workshop (SEW) from June 29-July 2! This 4-day workshop runs all day from 8:30am to 4pm and is for educators and K-12 teachers interested in advancing racial justice in their classrooms and schools is organized by UIC’s Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy.

Join us if you want to explore why race/ethnicity matters in schools, how racial dynamics shape the historical and social context of urban education, how we can integrate racial justice into our classrooms and curricula, and how we help students understand racial issues and become change agents in their communities. Learn strategies to engage in social justice pedagogy from experienced facilitators and build an inclusive environment with a cohort of educators that support each other’s work.

Participants will receive Certified Professional Development Units (CPDUs). Space is limited. Register as an individual or create a team from your school or organization.
