Please keep in mind that passwords at UIC require updating across several systems, and this may take some time to complete. In the meantime, you can try:
- Use your OLD password to log in. (To change your password, click here.)
- Restart your device and try logging in again.
- Manually sync your password using the instructions here: https://help.uillinois.edu/TDClient/37/uic/KB/ArticleDet?ID=890
If these steps do not work, please reach out to the Technology Solutions Service Desk at ithelp@uic.edu, as they are better positioned to resolve NetID password and account issues.

CUPPA users will notice that the power features are not available from the user desktop. This is to try to ensure patches and security updates are installed regularly. If you need to restart your computer, you can:
- Sign out of user desktop
- Once at the user login screen, press “Ctrl+Alt+DEL”
- In the lower right-hand corner, you should see the Power icon, click and select restart.

“Under Official Name:
To change your name you must fill out the Change of Demographic form and present legal documentation (such as a marriage license, court order, and/or Social Security Card) and photo ID reflecting your new name to the Office of the Registrar. Email documents to the Office of the Registrar at registration@uic.edu.”

- To order new equipment, please reach out to your department’s business manager or head for approval. If you would like CUPPAtech to help with your purchase, you can email cuppatech@uic.edu to start the ordering process.

Please remember to never open an email you suspect to be malicious.
- You can forward the entire email to security@uic.edu – This will notify the UIC security team to potentially flag the sender.
- If this email was sent from an address you recognize, but it looks and maybe reads “weird”, “odd”, or makes a strange request, reach out to the person directly via phone, or perhaps another email address to confirm the contents.
- Delete the email without opening it.

When someone leaves the university, you are going to want to make sure you:
- Return all borrowed equipment and sign any necessary Equipment Loan Forms.
- Employees should reach out to their HR professional with any questions.
- Back up your email using Outlook to a private address. – Students retain email access for one full term after departure, faculty and staff keep email access for 90 days after their last day.
- Be sure to back any important or historical data you want to preserve to to a private cloud account or USB drive.
